HOW TO DEVELOP GOOD INTRODUCTIONS AND CONCLUSIONS FOR A SPEECHIntroduction
It is very important to begin a speech with the proper attention getter and this is so important because the attention getter sets the tone for the the whole speech. Some examples of attention getters include a statistic, a question, or even a story relating to the presentation. Next it is important to prove that you are credible and that your information is also credible. Speeches also need to include a "statement of purpose." The thesis would then follow and the thesis statement summarizes your entire presentation in a sense. After stating the thesis the speaker should then discuss the body of the speech. Conclusion To conclude a speech the speaker should make sure the restate the purpose statement and then restate the body points of the presentation. It is also important to include the thesis statement again in the conclusion. In the conclusion the speaker should never introduce more topics, the speaker should only summarize topics that were previously discussed. Reference Grand Valley State University. (2019, January 16).
